Scarlet Salem is a model and actress from Minnesota. She began modeling in 2007 working steadily in print, fashion, and various websites. Her life long love of the horror genre led to her auditioning for an independent horror film called 'Pajama Party Massacre'.

She got the role and loved the experience so much that she sought out other film work. To date she has worked on over two dozen projects with titles such as: 'Terror Overload', 'Killer Biker Chicks', 'Resist Evil Trilogy', 'Strip Club Slasher', and 'Camp Kill'.

In 2010 Scarlet will be working on 'Hallow Point', her first large scale project. The film, being shot in New Orleans, stars a whole slew of genre legends.

In addition to film work, Scarlet can also be seen in various commercials and makes many appearances at film festivals and horror conventions all across the country.

DamnedSociety: Have you always been interested in horror or did it gradually grab your interest?

Scarlet: I’ve always loved horror.  Since I was a young girl its all I remember watching.  If I was to make a list of my favorite movies, they would all be horror.

DamnedSociety: What was your first break in the industry? In other words, what lead Scarlet on the right path towards being a scream queen?

Scarlet: Working on Pajama Party Massacre with Joe Knetter..  Being my first film, I went in without knowing much.  Joe was able to show me the ropes and give me a lot of pointers on what to do and how to accomplish it.

DamnedSociety: I saw your video for Zombie Ammo. Very funny - how many zombies do you kill per day?

Scarlet: Haha, thanks! I try to limit to under ten per day since it’s a pain in the ass to keep buying more bullets.

DamnedSociety: Are you currently working on any big projects?

Scarlet: Yes, a few as a matter of fact! One of them is Hallow Pointe which is full of a bunch of genre legends…. Tony Todd, Kane Hodder, Leslie Easterbrook…. So many cool ones, I’m stoked! I can’t really say much about it, but it is a werewolf movie and the script is amazing! Stay tuned!

DamnedSociety: What is the best part about working in the horror industry?

Scarlet: The people!  Working with the ones who I grew up watching.  The fans are awesome and everyone is so supportive,  I love it!

DamnedSociety: Who or what inspires you and why?

Scarlet: Everyone who I work with in the industry.  Anyone that follows their dream, inspires me!

DamnedSociety: Out of all the films that you have worked on, which was your favorite?

Scarlet: Its like asking a mother who her favorite child is…. I love them all for different reasons.

DamnedSociety: Have you had any obstacles or did something leave a bad taste in your mouth during your career?

Scarlet: Sure, theres always situations that are less than ideal.  You just have to know how to work through them and at the end of the day, your performance is all that matters.

DamnedSociety: Which would you rather be, the killer or the victim?

Scarlet: Its fun to be both!

DamnedSociety: Last but not least, what is the one thing you need to accomplish this year, horror related or not.

Scarlet: I would just like to keep working consistently and hopefully work on a couple films with big budgets.
