We sit down with model turned actress - Bianca Barnett. If there was a definition for rising star, her name would be in the dictionary.

DamnedSociety: Thank you for joining us Bianca, how are you doing?

Bianca: I’m wonderful, thank you for having me!

DamnedSociety: How did you first get started in the entertainment industry?

Bianca: In my teen years, I started out as a model because I was tall and willing to cut my hair into a platinum, pixie crop. I loved modeling, I still do, but I wanted to branch out and do something different. I have always been a film fanatic- obsessed with independent film and horror movies. I decided to channel my energy into acting. I will be the first to say I still have a long way to go as a performer. I am still learning the craft and business aspect of moving pictures.

DamnedSociety: Has working with horror always been your passion? Or did this happen out of nowhere?

Bianca: I love horror and it is easily my favorite genre- especially from the 1970s and 1980s. I was a Goth girl growing up, so it is no big surprise that I am most interested in working in the horror genre. I also know that horror has a huge market, and that distributors are more willing to pick up a horror film than a drama or comedy without a big name.

DamnedSociety: Bianca, you are so damn gorgeous, I actually had to do a double take when I found out you played “Pig Bitch” in the movie, Albino Farm. What was your experience like, working on that film?

Bianca: Well, first, thank you so much, that’s so sweet of you to say that! Trust me; there are plenty of days when I don’t feel gorgeous or glamorous! Those are my real pig bitch days… ha!

Albino Farm was the first film I worked on with a budget, so I was intimidated, but so excited to be working as an actor! We shot on location in Missouri, so being there helped get into the spirit of the film. I grew up in Texas, so being in small towns was very comforting. All of the locals were so cool, friendly, and enthusiastic. They gave their “all” for the film, and I hope that they enjoyed the final product.

DamnedSociety: How long did it take to transform into pig bitch?

Bianca: Generally, it took about three to four hours sitting in the makeup chair. After that, it was hours and hours of just waiting around, which was very challenging as it weighed about five pounds and obstructed my vision, hearing, and breathing. Once I was on set, the pain disappeared and I was ready to become Pig Bitch! It took at least thirty minutes to remove the makeup, and believe me, after a fifteen-hour day that felt amazing!

DamnedSociety: What other movies are you currently working on?

Bianca: I have officially signed to star in “The Toy Box”, directed by Michael Colburn, which begins filming this spring. I’m also working with Ramzi Abed next week on his latest endeavor, “Noirland”. There are also four other films I might be working on, including- Keith Smith’s “Hellstorm”, and John D. Robinson’s “Vengeance Wears a Skirt”. I am crossing my fingers and hoping they will all work out. I am completely open to other projects that come along.

DamnedSociety: What is your favorite part about working in the horror industry?

Bianca: Definitely all of the great people I meet. I think there are some people who get into show business to be placed on a pedestal so they can feel superior to others. That is not what drew me to performing; I honestly wanted a chance to connect and meet people with similar interests who enjoyed what I do. I truly want to entertain and possibly inspire!

DamnedSociety: Who or what is your inspiration?

Bianca: So many things, but nature has been my biggest inspiration lately. I am hoping to buy a home up north one day so I can have all of the beautiful trees, fresh air, flora, and fauna around me. Los Angeles has been good to me lately, but my dream is to live elsewhere while still working in film all over the country. I’d have to stay on the west coast, though, because it seems to be where I belong.

DamnedSociety: Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, or a Gremlin – who would you rather date?

Bianca: Depends on which will rock out with me (and my dogs) to Def Leppard while eating peanut butter and Hershey’s chocolate. It wouldn’t be a “date” though, because I have a boyfriend (we call each other “death partners”), who is just amazing.

DamnedSociety: Do you have any other aspirations besides acting?

Bianca:  Yes, graduating from university with honors would be thrilling! I also want to start signing more at conventions so I can meet the fans. I’d also love to start a regular web video blog, redesign my website, and work as a professional model again…
